Substance Use treatment aims to provide a safe space that support clients in healing from trauma, learn new coping skills, and reclaim their personal power.

Adult Services

  • Outpatient Counseling Services

Adult Outpatient Services at Mutual Ground provide individualized treatment plans to help support adults through the challenges that may emerge in recovery while working through an addiction. The counseling team provides support to understand the emotions and reasons that are causing substance use.

  • Intensive Outpatient Program

The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Mutual Ground is a treatment approach recommended in some circumstances by a clinical and/or medical assessment. This program allows people in recovery to continue their therapy on a part-time, yet more intensive schedule, designed to accommodate work and family life.

  • Co-Occuring Disorder Program

At Mutual Ground, we work with a psychiatrist who sees our clients diagnosed with co-occurring disorders, and can support medication management. Providing both screening and treatment for mental health and substance use disorders can lead to better quality of care and outcomes.

Adolescent Services

I thought it was a waste of time at first, then I realized how serious my situation is.
— Client, 16

Adolescent Services at Mutual Ground address substance use during the formative teenage years to prevent unhealthy coping mechanisms and patterns from becoming engrained and possibly leading to longer-term destructive behaviors. Counselors help teens identify, address and take responsibility for their cycle of use.

DUI Services

DUI Services are offered to any individual arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or other drugs (DUI) to meet the Illinois requirements prior to sentencing for a DUI offense.

Anger Management Services

Anger Management classes are designed to give tools for managing anger in healthy ways, target what makes people angry, and show how anger can be good if used properly.
